Autism & ADHD Support Sessions
One-to-one Autism & ADHD Support sessions are a place for you to explore your neurodivergent identity. The sessions are not counselling, psychological therapy or treatment for mental health conditions. However, you may find they impact positively on your mental health and wellbeing. The focus will be on your specific challenges, and help you to design your life in ways which work for you as an Autistic, ADHD or AuDHD person.

Sessions could include your exploration of possible Autism or ADHD, or both. We are not able to assess you, but can support you to learn more and consider in relation to your own life. Sessions can be helpful for those looking for support whilst awaiting assessment. They may also be a place to talk through your thoughts and feelings following a diagnosis, and considering about what this means for you.

The sessions are person-centred, which means you can decide what you would like to focus on, and we can plan the support around this. We can think together about the specific challenges you face as an autistic person, and work with you to develop strategies which could be helpful. We may cover practical strategies for managing masking, burnout out, boundaries, relationships, work challenges, energy levels and support you to consider these in the context of your own situation.

Where relevant I will send you resources, links and sign-posting info which you might find helpful. We may also work together on thinking about your strengths and opportunities for the future.

It is important to note that sessions are not advocacy, so we will not get directly involved with any work, benefits, housing, healthcare, criminal justice or education organizations. However, we can support to help you to identify and communicate your needs, and provide a space to talk through any issues together. This may help you gain clarity and plan how to move forwards.

There will always be stimming toys on hand, and the main light will always be off, with ambient lighting used when needed. If there is anything in the space which causes a sensory challenge for you we will do our best to make the necessary changes. For online sessions we recommend you have a quiet and private space, with any item you find comforting to hand. You can chose to have your camera on or off, and communicate through speaking or via the chat function. For all sessions I encourage you to move around the space, or take movement breaks, if it helps you to feel comfortable.

Autism & ADHD Support sessions are also available for parents or corers of Autistic, ADHD or AuDHD individuals who are looking for resources to gain better understanding to support a loved one.

Autism & ADHD Support sessions are 60 minutes in duration, and can be in-person in Hereford or online via Zoom.

Please feel free to contact us for a free 30 minute initial assessment, where you can ask any questions to help you decide if the sessions would be helpful for you.
